The blanket that I made the squares with is finally finished. Although it is pretty small, I still feel that it is a bit of an achievement, the biggest thing I've made for years, and it has come out rather well!

Tax return - the joy of being self employed!
Not been on here as have been busy with my family as well as sorting out my tax returns for the business. A very straight foward job which has been made much more difficult by being sent out the wrong forms and the web site for the tax office being offline. Meanwhile I am still working on my squares for my blanket and hope to have some photos soon! I am also going to have a stall at my kids school for their summer fair so need to think of some ideas of things to sell that will appeal to children.

Squares
I'm trying to use up some of my huge bag of wool so am making some squares for blankets. I'm starting off with a little pram blanket in blue shades and here are some of the squares I have done already.

Little Bag
I had some lovely fluffy wool to use up so decided to make some little bags, ideal for children.
They are simply two granny squares joined together with a chain stitch strap. Very quick and easy and very effective in the colours I have.

Little Bag for a Peaceful Future
My daughter bought a 'happiness bag' yesterday and wanted to make one up of her own. So together we have made a little bag for a peaceful future and filled it with 6 little trinkets and a poem.
The poem is as follows:
A heart to make sure you are never loveless
A gemstone to remind you life is precious
A little charm to keep you at peace
A four leaf clover so your luck will increase
A coin so you are never broke
And to make you laugh a little joke
What's brown and sticky? A stick
And a button to hold it all together
So you can now have peace forever
She is selling them for £1.50 and they can be personalised if required.

Flower Mobile Phone Charm
In addition to the pink flower mobile phone charm that I am already selling I thought I would add another colour. So here is a blue one.
Octopus Mobile Phone Charm
I have been working on new mobile phone charm ideas this morning and this is my first attempt at a octopus.

Maws Craft Centre
I have just taken the kids up to Maws Craft Centre to look at some of the lovely things they have there. Managed to spend far more money than I intended but got some stencils for my art work and some nice wool that was on special offer.

Mobile Phone Charms
I am looking to make some more mobile phone charms. Have started with a simple flower design tonight, but will try out some more interesting designs tomorrow.
Holiday
After a week on holiday I am now busy making items for my next craft fair. I have decided to concentrate on making a few more bags and some mobile phone charms. I have also had an idea for doing some different paintings, but need to think about those a bit more first.
